- If you have privacy concerns due to using Zoom for your personal, private, or work life, open Zoom prior to logging into the conference and ensure your legal name or personal identifiers are removed. Identify yourself by your scene name – During the conference your screen name will be locked.
- Being on camera is not required to participate, it is optional – If you wish to preserve your identity turn your video off or cover the camera with tape, this allows you to listen and participate without being seen. Alternatively you can utilise Zoom’s ”show avatar” feature to have an animated character representing you.
- When speaking if you or others experience feedback, echos, or other audio technical issues consider using headphones to prevent your mic picking up the sound, if this is not possible please use the chat feature to communicate rather than coming on mic.
- Zoom’s “Speaker view” focuses on the presenter/speaker rather than everyone in the room. You can also right click on an avatar to ”hide non-video participants” and only see those on camera.
- Presenters will establish their own ground rules for handling questions during the workshop; please be aware and respect the presenters’ time, effort, and requests. Room monitors will be on hand to support presenters.
